One of the challenges facing Lebanon is not conquest by armies, but conquest by treaties. The conference on global warming taking place in Copenhagen is one example.
In reality, there is nothing that a small country such as Lebanon can do to change the world’s temperature. There is no benefit whatsoever for Lebanon, or any other country, to agree to any treaty or agreement that may be drafted in Copenhagen.
All that can be done is for each country to act on a local level through the pursuit of alternative energy options and by cleaning its own environment -- not necessarily for the purpose of changing the world’s temperature, which is humanly impossible, but to create a cleaner environment for us to live in. Such an objective has to be accomplished through local measures, not internationally imposed standards aimed at centralization of power, imposition of global taxation, and undermining of national sovereignties.
Whatever Lebanese representatives are attending the Copenhagen conference, they need to be asked to return home even before the conference ends. More importantly, they must not agree to anything. The more a country becomes entangled with international organizations, the worst it will become.
International organizations do not want to “help” a country. They want to own it and control it. One measure is to entice a country with promises of money if it agrees to whatever deal being presented.
Once a country takes the loans, then the internationalists would create a financial/political environment causing the country to default on the loans so that international organizations can move in and “own” the country’s lands and infrastructure (health, education, electric, water, and other public services) as “collateral” for their loans. The end objective? The country becomes socially and economically dismembered.
Unfortunately, many people continue to look for answers outside their country’s borders -- instead of taking personal initiative themselves and deal with the issue at hand, whatever that issue may be.
Tamiflu to children?
On another subject, Lebanon’s Health Minister Mohammed Jawad Khalife was reported few weeks ago as saying that the anti-viral drug Tamiflu will be provided to hospitals to be distributed for free to children.
According to the Physicians’ Desk Reference Guide to Prescription Drugs, “Tamiflu’s ability to prevent the flu in children under age 13 has not been established.”
Furthermore, the Guide lists thirteen side effects caused by the drug: Abdominal pain, asthma, bronchitis, cough, diarrhea, ear infection, fatigue, headache, insomnia, nausea, nosebleed, vertigo, and vomiting.
The question to Minister Khalife is: what is your medical basis for distributing Tamiflu to children when the drug has no benefit to them whatsoever, but only side effects? Why give a drug with 13 side effects to anyone when natural remedies to the flu do exist with no side effects?
As the H1N1 scam came and went, so would the “global warming” perceived crisis. The key is to be aware and not to fall in the trap of a manufactured “crisis” aimed at harming the people and the nation.
The people are at risk because those in government are party to the scam. The proof? The rulers are either silent or rallying behind policies which are based on fear mongering and biased studies, instead of exposing those policies and providing the public with correct information.
